where he showed his first bridal collection at Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier

Kevan Hall, arguably L.A.'s top design talent, brought his signature glamorous red carpet sensibility and couture-level craftsmanship to New York on Friday, Oct. 15, where he showed his first bridal collection at Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier.

"I'd been doing so many celebrity weddings and getting calls and requests to do special things for girls and socialites and royals," said Hall, "so I thought, well, why don't we actually tie a real bridal collection together and give people an opportunity to have it and enjoy it for a really special day."

Hall's eveningwear has been worn by the cream of the crop of Hollywood's elite, including Felicity Huffman, Vivica A. Fox, Virginia Madsen, Garcelle Beauvais, Debra Messing and Renee Zellweger.

Hall, who launched his label, Kevan Hall Couture, in L.A. in 1982 with his wife and partner Deborah Hall, said he decided to launch this collection in New York during the semi-annual bridal market week because "there's really no other market, besides Europe, where you can really get that kind of exposure for a collection."

Featuring bridal gowns with names like "Harlow," "Marilyn," "Halle" and "Audrey," Hall referenced stars past and present in dresses that were unapologetically glamorous, from a sleek '30s screen siren silk crepe bias-cut gown with crystal-encrusted straps to an architectural origami pleated bodice with an Art Deco bent.

"I was thinking of girls who at this point want to look like celebrities, like they're going to the Oscar's, like they're going to the Emmy's," said Hall. "I'm hoping to style icons."
