Top handbags of 2010

The Luxist has named their top 10 handbags of 2010. The Luxist is the definitive word when it comes to luxury items.

Tops on their list is from Valentino. This is my favorite handbag too. An elegant clutch topped with crystal encrusted birds with a body of feathers. The clutch is priced at $4,170.00.

The Bodhi Safety Pin Clutch is the most affordable and possibly the most wearable. It costs $398.00 and features a safety pin handle with lots of gold studs. It was first seen in 2008 but made an appearance on Gossip Girl, 2010.

Nina Ricci was selected for classic elegance, with a white leather Ondine Agneau Handbag accented with a gold chain. It features rope side stiching and a center horseshoe. It is priced at $2,300 and has a clean and sophisticated look.

Jimmy Choo designed a really fun bag for any age. The Damian Ponyskin Bag features neon, ponyskin and whip stitching. It will set you back $1,895.00.

The Rete Metal Evening Bag from Prada features a crystal chain and crystal kisslock closure. The body of this practical evening bag is mesh. No pricing was listed.

The Fendi Trevi Fountain design is a python satchel dipped in 24kt. If you have a spare $36,000, you might love it.

Temperley created the Faberge Lattice Clutch. The bag is made to look like a gold Faberge egg and teams a lattice design with hot pink silk satin. It comes in priced at $1,550.

Christian Louboutin created the Lolita Python Bag. It has the look of an animal print on python. This just does not send me.

Gucci scores with their Medium Dome Satchel . It has stunning embossed leather with great hardware. Gucci looked inexpensive on this list at $1,350.

Lastly was Alexander McQueen's De-Mante Bag. It has the feeling of look directly at a python. Beautiful colors and skin placement to create a one-of-a-kind stunner.

This year was full of glitz and glam. Unexpected colors and embellishments were hot. Things seem to be headed towards a lot of feminine details. We will check back with The Luxist for more top designs.

This year is pretty much in the bag. Let's move on to 2011.
